More about my personal life
I was born in the Philippines and I grew up comfortably, we weren't stacked with money but we aslo didn't suffer while living there. My family moved to the United States when I was 13 years old in a way to give me and my siblings a better and a more secured future. We still have some characteristics of your typical Filipino family living in America. Though my older siblings are already independent and married. They still find their way back to my parents arms. It's a normal thing in the Philippines since we were raised to be a close knit family. Though the American culture of dorms and living on campus is really important cause it signifies freedom and adulthood. In the Filipino culture we never ventured out of the house since college universities arent that far away. Don't worry we still get our freedom, we just get to go home to our parents house in the end of the day.
Now I work full time as machine operater and training as graphic designer in a business promotion company. I print labels and make sure all the pdf files are correct with the right fonts, cmyk colors, and artwork. I'm also getting trained to fix or edit vector files so it can be reprinted. I deal with Adobe photoshop for raster files, and Adobe Illustrator for vector files. I really like the job I have right now, though my goal is to be head of the art department or somewhat close. That way I can work remotely and still have time to take some freelance gigs or learn more about graphic/web designing. I think the more we know the better it is for our future. It's also good to know more than one thing, because what will happen if the occupation that you have right now fails. What do you have on the side you can do to pay bills?
