Founded in 2008, Duo Harmonia (formerly the Başgöze-Pinto Piano Duo) have been performing regularly in and around the state of Minnesota, USA. They have frequently been invited to perform in concert series such as the MacPhail Center for Music Spotlight Series (Minneapolis, MN), Schubert Club Court Room Series (St. Paul, MN), Thursday Musical Artist Series (Twin Cities, MN), and Central Michigan University School of Music Alumni Concert Series (Mt. Pleasant, MI). Recipients of a MacPhail Artist Development Grant – funded by The McKnight Foundation – Duo Harmonia recorded their first CD, Harmonia, in 2018.
Duo Harmonia is a piano duo consisting of Turkish-American pianist Pınar Başgöze, and Portuguese-American pianist Susana Pinto. Their current project is Heart-Tales.
As spring is upon us, Carolyn, John and Sarah look forward to performing selections that have renewed and restored their lives as performers coming out of the last two years of the pandemic. Works by Faure, Copland and Dougherty are planned.
We welcome back to the HAC Stage, Ivan Konev giving a FREE concert!
Ivan Konev was born in Ukraine and educated in Moscow where he completed his Bachelor degree in Piano performance from the Music College affiliated with the Moscow Conservatory and Master degree in Piano performance from Gnessin’s Music Academy. Upon his graduation he came to study piano and Liberal Arts at Hamline University in Saint Paul, Minnesota. In 2010 Ivan finished his Doctoral degree in Piano performance from the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Konev's program will include: Ukrainian Suite (12 min) by Igor Shamo (1925-1982), Piano Sonata no. 2 (15 min) by Ned Rorem ( b. 1923), and 6 Moments Musicaux op. 16 by Sergei Rachmaninoff (1873-1943)
