All About Me

Growing up

I was born in 2006 making me 19 years old, I am the middle of 4 brothers, ages 15- 24 years old. I am very clumsy and this has led me to never play any sports through school. I also just never found any interest in sports to begin with. I have always been drawn to arts and crafts, from a young age. I started off just drawing in my notebooks in elementary school and got my first sketchbook in 6th grade. I also made friendship bracelets and made slime.

Jobs

I have had three very different jobs since I started working at 16, just a few months before I turned 17. My first job was at an arcade, where I worked as an arcade attendant. I was usually the first person customers saw when they walked in, selling gaming cards, and the last person they interacted with when they checked their points and redeemed prizes. My assistant manager was a friend from high school, and while she worked on fixing games, I helped her and learned the basics of arcade machine maintenance. I worked there for a year and three months, and I only left because I was starting college and the commute was too far from both my home and campus.

About a month later, I started my second job at a library as a teen shelving intern. This was a summer position during my 11th-grade year, where I focused on organizing and shelving materials.

My current job is at a restaurant near my house, which I started in March of my senior year. I’ve been there for almost two years now. I began as a host and have since taken on more responsibility, primarily working as an expo. Currently, I work one hosting shift and two to three expo shifts each week.

How I've Changed

Together, my background and work experiences have helped shape who I am today. Growing up in a busy household and focusing on creative interests taught me to be patient, observant, and independent, while my different jobs helped me develop responsibility and strong people skills. From working with customers at the arcade, staying organized at the library, and handling fast-paced teamwork at the restaurant, I have learned how to adapt to new environments and challenges. These experiences have helped me grow both personally and professionally and have prepared me for future opportunities.
